9 days on the road.
Matt's Honda Civic. Her name is Matrine and she has been good to us.
We've covered over 3000 miles;
11 states;
4 national parks;
4 Camp sites;
2 motel rooms when we just couldn't be bothered to set the tent up.
2 skinny dips, once in a hot spring;
1 almost-speeding ticket by a forgiving Park Ranger in Yellowstone Park;
Billings, Boise, Bozeman, Bend; lot's of cities that start with the letter 'b'.
The fear of bears has slowly subsided.
My fear of climbing mountains still needs some work.
Oregon is amazing.
Wyoming is wild.
Idaho is flat and dry and burning hot. I never want to go to Idaho again.
I've also reached my cowboy quota for the year.
Actually, i lied.
I'd probably go to Idaho again. Maybe. Sure. Why not.
RV's. More RV's than i've ever seen in my entire life.
RV's and SUV's and RV's pulling SUV's.
Every kind of camper van. Westfalia VW's resurected.
Portland and Seattle and Vancouver all in one day.
3 Square meals of food not found since Minneapolis.
Spaghetti;Thai Curry's;Asparagus;Tofu;Organic Peanut Butter;
Finally in Vancouver. A real bed to sleep in. A real bedroom to come home to every night. Family hustle and bustle, noises, laughter.
Nice to be a part of a wedding that is not my own.
Looking forward to flying out to Beijing but not in any rush to get there just yet.
The road has been kind.
Martine.
